Are my Traffic Controllers Accreditation's National and can i use them in other States?

Traffic Controllers Accreditation's are National Units of Competency and although all States are using the units of competency, some States will require additional Units of Competency to work in that particular State. Give us a call if you are unsure about the transition to other states. We can call upon other partners to get your accreditation's transferred.  

What States and Territories are under the Austroads Training Scheme?

The states requiring Austroads Accreditations are

  • South Australia
  • Northern Territory
  • Tasmania
  • Victoria

Can I use my TMA qualification all over Australia?

The TMA qualification RIIRTM301E is valid in all Sates and Territories, excluding Western Australia. To obtain a WA TMA qualification, please contact a Training provider on WA to transfer your qualification.

 

WA sets a very high standard for the use of TMA, so before you can obtain a TMA qualification you need the minimum, listed below

  • Hold a current and valid Heavy Rigid (HR) driver’s license or higher, to operate the TMA
  • You must have evidence of at least 80 hours experience in operating heavy vehicles within the last 6 months;
  • Hold a valid Work Safe WA Construction Safety Awareness Training Card (commonly referred to as White Card);
  • Hold a current Main Roads WA Basic Worksite Traffic Management Accreditation;
  • You must have evidence of at least 50 hours practical experience in traffic management within the last 6 months.
